How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in the Marine Science Magnet High School!

MSMHS accepts student applications for the 2024-2025 school year from October 1, 2023 until January 12, 2024!

Apply to MSMHS

Admission to MSMHS is by lottery and an application must be completed for each student that applied.  To submit an application, click here.  You will receive an email confirmation from PowerSchool Enrollment when you successfully submit your application.  To request a paper application, please contact the school at 860-446-4049.

Applicants are randomly chosen through an on-line lottery process. The only prerequisites for applying to MSMHS: students who are residents of Connecticut at the time of applying and currently enrolled in the 8th grade  are eligible to submit an application for the MSMHS freshman class. A small number of sophomore seats may be available.

We encourage interested families to attend one of our Open Houses to tour and learn more about what MSMHS has to offer:
Thursday, November 9th – 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, December 2nd  – 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. (
Drop-In Open House)
Thursday, January 4th – 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
